SWEETHEART JAMBOREE DANCE EVENT
Feb. 13-15, 2009

The Sweetheart Jamboree is almost with us. Within the next 2 weeks rooms will go very quickly so I would strongly urge you to make your hotel reservations right away. BE SURE and tell them that you'll be attending The Sweetheart Jamboree. That will give you the special rate
 
The event starts on Friday. The registration desk opens at noon. I'll be teaching one of the first classes at 12:45.  The event ends 4:15 pm on Sunday. If you've never been to a dance event I highly recommend this one. It's held in Bellevue and is very reasonably priced. Some great teaching talent will be there including local instuctors, myself, and some great out of town talent.
 
Friday late afternoon there will be the captains reception and everyone is encouraged to stop by and visit with the event staff and instructors. This is YOUR event and we'd love to meet you and get to know you a  little better.
 
Note, the 4:30-7:45 classes are FREE

 One big need for the event is for volunteers to help out with the dance floors. They will need help to  put it down and help to take it back up after the event is over. If you can help do any of this please let me know and I'll put you in touch with the appropriate person.
 
The classes I'm scheduled to teach are;

Fri Intermediate West Coast Swing 12:45 – 1:45

Fri Beginning East Coast Swing  5:45 – 6:45

Sat Intermediate Hustle 9:00-10:15 

Sat Beginning Salsa – 4:00-5:15

Sun – Beginning "Plus" Nite club two step  2 1:30-2:45

A couple of things to be aware of;
  • you can register online using paypal but there are no refunds after Jan. 26th.
  • There will be 3 dance floors set up. One for Swing, Hustle etc. one for Country dancing and a line dance room
  • note the free classes on the web site schedule. It's a great time to try out some classes
  • The Saturday night dinner show is formal. Just like on a cruise when they have their formal night. So dress up. If you don't have the "fixin's for a formal don't worry. Just get a little dressed up.
  • Get your room reserved S.T.A.T. They WILL be going fast and the Jamboree has a block of rooms set aside for the discounted Jamboree rate.
  • Video passes are required to video a recap at the end of the classes. You MUST have a video pass. The instructor will not allow you to video anything without the pass
  • Event dvds will be available for order.  Each year it's worth purchasing the event dvd just to see the crazy antics that Janet and I do when we video. We're definitely the most animated people that they video each year. These dvds will be a "brief recap" of the material that was taught. They will not be detailed. They're great to have to review before you go out dancing.
My dear friend Janet Munson from Olympia will be teaching with me again this year. We've taught at these events together for at least a decade.
